Sugiyama Shounikaiin: Registered Tangible Cultural Property (Yamatokōriyama, Nara, Japan) / October 12 - 20, 2013

Ai's solo show in a building that has been registered tangible cultural property in Yamatokōriyama, Nara, showcased new oil paintings by the artist. This exhibition sought to represent human emotions through visual metaphors. These symbols were designed to trigger off, through imagination, connections to people's memories.

Koriyama Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Yamatokōriyama, Nara, Japan) / October 12 - 20, 2013

The latest installation work by Ai was on display. The goldfish is the icon of Yamatokōriyama area, as well as one of its main industries whichdetermines its landscape. The goldfish represents money, while many varieties are created by human greed. Through these artworks, Ai tried to express the symbolic link between goldfish and human activity.

Sabo Kouenjishorin (Kōenji, Tokyo, Japan) / December 9 - 15, 2012

Ai exhibited pictures of cats in order to think about the year 2012 and to look forward to the following year. A portion of sales has been donated to animal protection groups.

"Hana, Hana, Hana" ("hana" means "flower"), Art Festival in machiya (Japanese traditional wooden townhouses) in Nara Prefecture. Ai was selected to exhibit her new works in each area.
